Three Card Poker, also known as Tri Card Poker, is a card game played between the player and a casino dealer. Players place their bets before the game begins and then try to make the best hand of a three-card hand. The game is played with a single deck of 52 cards.
In Gibraltar, the rules for playing Three Card Poker are similar to other places. Players place the Ante bet before each round, which is a mandatory bet in order for the game to continue. Once the Ante is placed, the dealer deals three cards to each player and him/herself. The player examines his/her cards and decides whether to raise the Ante or fold it, forfeiting all bets placed on that round. The dealer must qualify with a Queen or better to continue the round. If the dealer does not qualify, then all players who are still in the game win, regardless of their hand.
If the dealer does qualify, then the hands of the players and the dealer are compared. If the player’s hand is better than the dealer, then the player wins the Ante and all other bets that the player placed at the beginning. If the dealer’s hand is better, the player loses all bets and the round is concluded. If both hands are equal, then the game is a push and the round is concluded.
