Punto Banco is a competitive card game, popular in European countries like Lithuania. It is traditionally played in a casino with 8 decks of cards and is based on the international version of Baccarat. The goal of the game is to make a hand from the two cards given to you, which has a value of 9 or as close to 9 as possible. The possible card values are 2-9, and 10s, Aces, Jacks, Queens and Kings are of no value in Punto Banco.
The game is played with two hands, the player and the banker, and after cards are dealt, the hands are compared. The winner is the one with the higher total value after cards are dealt. Should both hands have the same value, the game is a draw and the player's money is returned, as no one wins.
Also, Punto Banco can involve a side bet on the banker’s hand or the player’s hand, which pays 2:1. The side bet cannot be placed before the first two cards are dealt.
