Pai Gow is a Chinese domino game with a simple objective: to make two hands of four tiles each. These hands will then be compared with the dealer's hand, and players can win if their hands are better than the dealer's. A winning hand will result in a payout of 1.5 times the initial bet. The losing hand will result in the loss of the entire bet.
The game starts with each player being handed four tiles. The tiles are placed face down, and players can only touch them after the dealer has finished dealing the tiles. After the tiles have been dealt, each player then divides their four tiles into two sets of two tiles each. One set must have higher value than the other set. The higher-value set is called the ‘high hand’, and the lower-value set is known as the ‘low hand’.
Once the sets have been created, each player will then place their tiles face up and the dealer will compare them with their own. The high hand is compared first, then the lower, and if both the player's hands are stronger than the dealer's, the player wins.
