Mahjong is an ancient game that originated in China and is popular in many countries, including Iran. The main objective of the game is to match tiles on a Mahjong board, which consists of 144 tiles that are arranged in a specific pattern. In Iran, Mahjong is played with four players. The game starts with each player receiving thirteen tiles, and the aim is to make four sets and a pair. To make sets, players can use any combination of the four tiles provided to them, which can be a combination of sequences or chows, a pair, or a kong.
Each turn, a player must select and discard one tile; this tile is then taken up by the next player. The game continues in this manner until a player manages to build four sets and one pair and calls “Mahjong”. The other players then reveal their tiles to assess the winner.
