In Baccarat, players seek to get as close to 9 as possible. Players will be dealt two cards, and the option to take a third in some cases. If the total of the two cards is greater than nine, then only the final digit of the total is counted. For example, if a player is dealt two cards whose total is 15, the player's total would be 5.
In Baccarat, the value of the Ace is 1. Face cards are valued at 0, and the remaining cards are valued according to their numeric value. The first two cards of the player and the banker are dealt, and depending on the totals, the player may be granted the option to draw a third card. The player must stand on a 6 or 7, but can take an additional card on a total of 5 or less. The banker's decision is based on the player's third card or the initial total of the two cards.
