Baccarat is among the most popular casino games in the world and Japan is no exception. In Japan, Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. The object of the game is to correctly guess which hand will win; the Player's hand, the Banker's hand, or Draw. There are three possible betting options in Baccarat: Player (Punto), Banker (Banco), and Tie. The game begins with the player making his or her bet, and then the cards are dealt.
The Player receives two cards and the Banker receives two cards. Cards are ranked as follows: Ace=1, 2-9=face value, 10-King=0. The highest total for any given hand is nine. The Baccarat hands are divided into two classes: Player and Banker. A Player hand consists of two or three cards and a Banker hand consists of three or four cards. The winning hand is the one with the greatest total.
If the Player's total is six or seven, no additional cards are drawn. If the Player's total is five or less, the Player draws an additional card. If the Player's total is eight or nine, the Player stands and the Banker stands if the Player has seven or six.
